Ganderbal, May 19 (KNO): In a significant move to empower local youth and foster entrepreneurship, Mission Yuva District Counselling Centre Ganderbal, in collaboration with Block Gund, organized a one-day counselling program under the banner of ‘UDYAM Jagrati’ at the Multipurpose Building Gund on Monday.
The program drew participation from a large number of enthusiastic youth, community leaders, and representatives from various government departments. The core objective of the initiative was to raise awareness about self-employment avenues, government schemes, and the support structure available under Mission Yuva—especially focusing on UDYAM portal registration and related benefits.
Speaking at the event, Career Counseling Officer Saima Bhat, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) stressed the need for skill development, financial literacy, and digital inclusion, highlighting them as essential tools for young individuals aiming to start their own ventures.
She conducted interactive sessions detailing the process of UDYAM registration, how to access credit facilities, and the training opportunities available under government programs. “This initiative underlines our commitment to making the youth of Ganderbal self-reliant and economically empowered,” Bhat added, underlining the broader goals of Mission Yuva.
BDO Gund, Sheikh Arif, also addressed the gathering and underscored the importance of such grassroots-level engagements. “Programs like UDYAM Jagrati are crucial in bridging the information gap and motivating rural youth to take charge of their future through entrepreneurship,” he said.
The event concluded with one-on-one counseling sessions, during which youth were guided based on their individual aspirations and potential business interests.
Local participants appreciated the effort, describing it as timely and impactful. Many called for regular follow-up sessions and sustained outreach to ensure that the benefits of such initiatives reach every corner of the district—(KNO)
